RIDGE, Long Island (WABC) —

Five people were killed in a fiery, multi-vehicle crash involving a stolen car along a major road in Suffolk County on Long Island Wednesday.

Four vehicles, including an oil truck, collided just after 11:20 a.m. on Middle Country Road in Ridge.

Police said a person was killed in the stolen vehicle. One other person in that car was injured but is expected to survive.

Another car involved in the crash burst into flames after impact, killing all four inside.

The driver of an oil tanker involved in the crash was hurt but is expected to be OK.

Two other cars were involved, but there are no reports of injuries in those vehicles.

Police said there was no police pursuit leading up to the crash, and no officers witnessed the crash.

Middle Country Road, also known as Route 25, is closed in both directions between Wading River Hollow Road and Smith Road.
