I’m a self-proclaimed matte lipstick enthusiast. It’s safe to say that I’m more than devoted. But Pat McGrath Labs just converted me to a gloss girl—and I’m not mad at it. I walked into the Sunken Living Room, a coveted red-velvet room with the most luxurious couch that sinks into the floor, located at Spring Studios, a hot spot in New York City, with no idea what to expect. All I knew was whatever the new launch was had to be good because it was dreamed up by the mother of makeup herself, and Ms. McGrath never disappoints.
She announced her latest labor of love: Lust, a collection of 14 luxurious lip glosses. She passed around the tray of glosses decked out in her signature black-and-gold packaging for editors to swatch and play with.
The collection features an array of pinks, reds, peaches, and nudes along with transparent shimmery shades to layer to your liking. The formula treads the line of gloss and balm, delivering a long-lasting, non-sticky finish that’ll leave your lips feeling hydrated for hours on end. I’m on hour five of wearing this gloss and shocked at its insanely amazing staying power.
The precise applicator is also caved in the center and tapered at the end, so you won’t have to worry about it feathering outside the lines.
Bonus points: These iconic gold bags are now resealable, so you can hold on to these dazzling gold specks as long as you want.
The lipsticks retail for $28 each and are available today in individual shades, packs of four, and an Everything Kit that holds all 14 shades on patmcgrath.com. Lust singles will be available at Sephora on May 24. Like every other launch, these are going to go fast. Below are all 14 stunning shades for a first glance at the line.
