Slimani eyeing Leicester exit
Islam Slimani is ready to demand to leave Leicester in January after his latest snub.
Leicester’s record signing has struggled to establish himself following a £30million move from Sporting Lisbon in August 2016.
The Algerian striker, 29, has made just one Premier League start this season, with eight brief appearances off the bench.
Slimani has played in the Carabao Cup, where he has scored four times in City’s wins over Sheffield United, Liverpool and Leeds. But he didn’t even make the bench for the second game running in Leicester’s 3-2 win at Newcastle under new boss Claude Puel.
MirrorSport understands the star is desperate for more game-time and just wants to play first team football.
Leicester were understood to be willing to sell Slimani in the summer but wanted to recoup as much of the £30m they paid Sporting. His huge price tag put off potential suitors including Watford and Newcastle.
Now with Slimani getting increasingly restless and the star hardly featuring, the Foxes may have to reassess his valuation.
