The internet has once again been hit by wild claims that a mythical planetary system, known as Nibiru or Planet X, is on its way towards earth.

On November 19, a group of astronomers claim Nibiru could cause an earthquake so huge it will cause tectonic plates to collide and volcanoes to erupt.

The destruction will hit vulnerable areas ‘all over the world’, they say, with ‘loss of life predicted to be in the millions’.

Nibiru – a theorised mini solar system consisting of a sun and some planets and moons – is alleged to be lurking on the edge of our solar system with a 3,600 year orbit of the sun.

The group, members of astronomy website Planetxnews.com, say have been closely following the growing number of earthquakes and volcanoes hitting earth in recent weeks.

They say the natural disasters align with the predicted path of Nibiru – and that it has huge gravitational strength.

Writer Terral Croft said the gravitational pull on our planet will peak on November 19, according to Express.co.uk

‘Global seismic activity reaches a peak in the second two weeks of November moving into December 2017,’ he claimed.

‘The predicted backside alignment quake event is scheduled for November 19, 2017, when the earth passes behind the sun relative to Nibiru.’

But despite fears of an impending armageddon, Nasa has repeatedly maintained that Nibiru does not exist.

The space agency debunked rumours of a previous collision with earth earlier this year, saying: ‘The planet in question, Nibiru, doesn’t exist, so there will be no collision.’

It gave a Q&A about the planet in 2012 answering ‘why the world didn’t end’ saying the story has been around for years.

‘The story of Niburu has been around for years (as has the “days of darkness” tale) and is periodically recycled into new apocalyptic fables,’ Nasa said.

Nasa points out that the catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003.

It was then brought forward to the ‘doomsday’ year of 2012.

Then again, in September of this year, conspiracy theorists predicted Nibiru would wipe out the entire planet because of a passage in the Bible.
