Conor McGregor says he ‘shivers’ when he watches back his fight with Floyd Mayweather – because of his punching action.
But the Irishman – who has called for a rematch with the boxing legend – says he has learned from his mistakes in that 2017 defeat.
McGregor is set for his long-awaited MMA comeback when he fights Donald Cerone at UFC 246 this weekend.
‘The Notorious’ wants three UFC fights before 2020 is out – but has also said he wants to return to the boxing ring.
And he says he would be a much better boxer second time around.
“I actually look at the Mayweather [fight], the shots on the bag and the way I was punching and I actually can’t even watch that,” McGregor told the latest episode of Embedded .
“I shiver when I see the way I was throwing my punches back then. I just wasn’t sitting right on them, just floating through the air.
“Now I’m getting into positions and sitting in. Got to go through everything to learn, to truly learn. Experience is the best teacher of all.”
McGregor was stopped in the 10th round by former multiple world champion Mayweather in what was the Dubliner’s professional debut.

Mayweather has teased a return to action in 2020, having linked up with UFC president Dana White.
McGregor reckons he would win a second clash with the American, saying: “I know I would beat him if we rematch, when we rematch.”
The 31-year-old says he also hopes to fight Manny Pacquiao and Paulie Malignaggi , and has his sights set on a boxing world title.
“I will box again, I will win a boxing world title. I love boxing and I’m damn good,” said McGregor.
If he gets past Cerrone in their welterweight clash on Saturday, McGregor is expected to target UFC match-ups with the likes of Justin Gaethje, Jorge Masvidal and Khabib Nurmagomedov, who beat him in his last bout in October 2018.
