Jurgen Klopp sent Philippe Coutinho a message this summer and wished him good luck ahead of his loan move to Bayern Munich.

Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £142million move back in January 2018, but he quickly fell down the pecking order in Spain and was allowed to leave on a temporary basis in this summer’s transfer window.

After the loan transfer was confirmed Coutinho was contacted by his former boss Klopp, who knows the Bundesliga well.

According to Coutinho, the German wished him well and said he was happy to see he had signed for a team the size of Bayern Munich.

Jurgen Klopp sent Philippe Coutinho a message

“He [Klopp] sent me a message and wished me luck. He wrote that Bayern is a big club and the Bundesliga a great league. He is very happy to see me there,” Coutinho told SportBild via Sport Witness.

On Klopp, Coutinho added: “He’s just a great coach, one of the best of the world. A real leader. I learned so much from him, especially on the mental level. He changed Liverpool.

“The club breathed new life, made them really strong again. It was an honour to work with him.
