Quique Sanchez Flores looking to keep up winning streak against Arsenal’s Unai Emery

Quique Sanchez Flores says he has extra motivation to beat Arsenal on Sunday.

The new Watford boss is set to face the Gunners in his first match since replacing Javi Gracia at Vicarage Road.

Gracia parted ways with the club earlier this month with Watford bottom of the league after picking up just one point from their first four games.

This is Sanchez Flores’ second stint at the Hornets after leaving the club at the end of the 2015/16 season, and the Spaniard is aiming to start strong by continuing his good record against opposite number Unai Emery.

Sunday’s meeting will be the eighth between the two managers, with the Watford boss winning three times and losing just once, while the other three matches ended in draws.

And Sanchez Flores said he would like to get another win over his fellow Spaniard, but insisted he already has enough motivation

“You always want to win,” he said in his press conference (via the Watford Observer ).

“You want to win and get goals, but it’s always a good motivation when you play against coaches with a good CV and a history and everything.

“It’s amazing, it’s a good motivation, but it’s extra motivation, this is not the main motivation.

“To get to the next step, this is what we want at the moment.

“Basically, we are not in the way that we want, or in the situation we want, so we need to take the next step, to feel more comfortable in the league table.

“Once we do that, we start to think about what is our limit.

“I’m really motivated in general, I don’t need extra motivation. It will be very emotional, but all of us starting from the fans, we know that the most important thing now is the team and to support the players because they need confidence.”
