Sadio Mane has warned potential suitors that they are wasting their time trying to tempt him away from Liverpool .
And as he reiterated his commitment to the Reds, the Senegalese star declared: “I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here”.
Mane won the Premier League golden boot last term and was a key player as Jurgen Klopp’s men won the Champions League – while also recording a club record total for top flight points.
The 27-year-old’s form has seen him garner no shortage of suitors, including French legend Zinedine Zidane, a self-confessed fan.
Real Madrid were linked with a possible move switch during the summer, with Zidane back at the helm at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But Mane insists he isn’t thinking of moving anywhere else, and is fully focused on his attempt to take the Premier League title to Anfield.
“To be honest, I’m really happy to be a part of the club, the family here,” when asked about his future by Complex. “We have the best fans in the world here, so I’m always so thankful for the support.
“It’s not just great for me too – it gives the whole squad more motivation to perform.
“It keeps us hungry to get better and better together – I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here!”
The Reds have made a smart start to the Premier League season, with four wins from four ahead of this weekend’s visit of Newcastle United.
And Mane believes that, with hard work, he can make his title dream reality this term.
“It’s very early to say of course, but our target, as everyone knows, is to win the league this season. We’re targeting the Champions League as well,” said Mane.
“From a young age, it’s been my dream to win these kind of trophies.
“I’m in a good stage of my career for sure, and I feel the whole squad is thinking the exact same right now.
“I’m trying to keep up my consistency now, and just work hard to keep up the high levels expected of us.”
